Got some good weather today, so dropped the trans fluid & took off the sump to fit the new bits I'd got from the states. Was a bit of a pain doing it on the drive, laid on me back, but turned out to be quite an easy job. It was pretty simple to pop in the missing valve & rod & new vac modulator - didn't even need to take out the valve body, which was a bonus! Put it all back together & filled back up with ATF, went for a quick spin & it's much better now Still not quite 100% when shifting in D, but I'll run it for a bit & keep checking the fluid - might just need topping up again. Finally, it can go off for paint next week. Hoping to have it done (maybe not the interior), for the Silcoates show Cheers, Robbo

Booked in for paint on Saturday, so 2 to 3 weeks & the Zeph should be sporting a sparkly blue flame job & roof! . Looks like it might be ready for Silcoates after all! I'll post up progress pics once the painting begins. Cheers, Robbo

Wayhey!!! Dropped the Zephyr off at the bodyshop this aft - That's the furthest I've driven in it so far - Dewsbury to Batley! . Gearbox wasn't too bad & we got there in one piece! Off to Northampton tomorrow to pick up another box. I'll probably get that one rebuilt, so I know I've got a good spare if I need it Steve, the bodyshop guy is as excited as me about flaming the Zephyr & has promised to take plenty of progress pics for me to post up. No doubt I'll be popping in every 5 mins anyway, to check up on the old girl! First job is to give it a damn good clean & buff up - it'll be a novelty just seeing it clean for the first time! Bring on the flaaaaames!!! Cheers, Robbo

Sorry mate, didn't get any pics of the cars. They were covered up, so I only had a quick peek.

Popped in to the bodyshop this aft, to check on progress on the Zephyr. It's all machined buffed now & looks really nice, so hopefully not too much of the green to touch up. The roof had been painted with some weird grey vinyl-effect paint & is really soft, so unfortunately, that's gonna have to be taken back to bare metal before the blue flake can go on. While I was there, I've been toying with idea of having the rear door handles shaved (depending on how much it's going to cost), what do you guys think?

Progress has been a bit slow on the Zephyr - the roof took a week to sand back to bare metal! It had been painted with some weird vinyl effect paint, which was really soft & was just clogging up the orbital! Even Nitromors wouldn't touch it! So it just had to done by persevering with the sander. Anyway, it's all prepped now, roof's in fresh primer & we're just deciding on paint. We tried a few different flakes & base coats, but the best effect, I think, has been with a paint called 'Metajuls'. We've been experimenting with that over various base coats & it's looking nice & sparkly! Much smaller flakes than a dry flake, but it covers a lot better & is more sparkly & easier to apply. It doesn't need half as much laquer over the top. Maybe putting a House of Kolor blue candy over the top too! Crap photo doesn't really do it justice - Shouldn't be long now! Cheers, Robbo
