Neighbours just got a 5 year old transit to convert into a camper, so I claimed the panel behind the seats. Not a mark on it and its just about the same width as the van. So will probably be a lot easier to fit than extending the old morris cab back panel each and every way.

Just got a couple of Sprinter van seat bases to fit under the bench seat, perfect height for comfort and driving with about 6" headroom and plenty of leg room. Trouble is getting in and out.

Changed my mind and now have some VW T4 bases which are flat and fit better than the sprinter ones that sloped back slightly putting the back of the seat too close to the blower belt. If we have a nice summer might make the Sprinter bases into garden seats for the BBQ times

Not happy with the 'chrome effect' powder coating I had done on the flywheel cover plate so I stripped it today, ready to polish tomorrow. Polished a pair of engine mounts as well ready for a trip to the Platers next week.

They're off. After a some shredded wheats this morning and the help of some 2ft Stilsons with a couple of feet of tube, I managed to get these off the big bottles. Ordered a set of plugs today as well

Thought I'd hit the motherr load this morning. Had to climb over van to change a flouro' tube and found a box with the Jag rear dampers in. After a quick clean one side of the springs are perfect but the backs are flaking and rusting but the dampers are still OK. Will check with plater when I pick the other bits up but I think new springs then chromed after I polish them will be cheaper than dechroming. As they were

Off to Cumbria tomorrow to pic up some chromed bits. Might possibly end up with a set of Pro Tecs and some Wisbech wishbones as its going to cost a bomb to get the IRS wishbones, springs/dampers/spring seats and collets chromed - and thats with me polishing them. So that just leaves the drive shafts, UJ's and tie bars, plus the front wishbones to do.
Anyone got any lucky Lotto numbers.

Just got back from platers and he confirms that buying 4 alloy Pro Techs and springs then getting the springs chromed would be a lot cheaper than plating the 4 dampers, retainers, collets and replating the existing springs. So looks like I'm after some more Pro Techs. Engine mounts will be posted out next week.
