Well that was a Benny hill scetch to be proud of!! ;D How can you get lost when you're 75 yards behind someone, I'll leave Jeff and Deano to explain that one.
Anyhow, with Grum having got his Rover motor in, we had a ride to Leeds with the intention of a brew at Grums and then on to the Leeds 'Tunnel Run' .
So 3pm Paul, Jeff, me and Deano left mine for a cruise over to Grums, having scared Deano sh*tless with a sudden turn off the M1 (Sorry mate) we made cross gates about 3.30, this is where things went a bit squiffy. We all did a left at the roundabout, saw all four cars in my mirror, I turned right into Grum's road about a further 150 yards down the road and pulled up outside his house. So did Joe & Paul in his pop. No sign either Deano or Jeff, how in gods name you got lost in 20 feet of tarmac god only knows. so with £30 quids worth of fone calls later we had Deano, unfortunately, it seems, Jeff got further lost and ended up getting to Grums about half an hour later!
''Hells teeth, 87 phone calls to get four cars to my house, never ever ever again!''
''It sez in this ere map that thas nackerd if thy r in a cobra or model y''
''Kettle on then, god im parched after that 400 mile round trip then we can discuss the finer points of painting your car with a Badger!!''
Now I've never met Grums better half till tonight, it would appear that her compost bin wasnt built to carry my stealth like ass, sorry Anette!!
Finally, last time I saw this car here the engine was supported by a size 16 collar shirt from Burtons!!

''My names Andy and i'm an apprentice tea pot, look I can do this already, were workin on the handle and spout next week, If Mel can do it so can I''
And so to the Tunnels, what a mega night this is turning into...
Well when the six of us rolled into Leeds, we were met by Robbo in the Hoodlum, Andy in his fres painted POP, and his V8 escort (fresh from a photoshoot) and Little Joe, closely followed by Nicky in the model A. A good healthy 11 car fiield that the NHRC managed, what an eyeful.
Rember this Pop....
Well from the talented hand of Andy it now looks like this...
Not a bad turn out at all, and all NHRC!
Just loved this, always wanted one....
Now if we'd have had Mick there in his 57, a shot of it lined up with this would have been somethin else!!
News just in, late Bulliten, Deano turns into a Giant vicious burger eating Hamster!!!
And Grum's that small, his arms are only 6 inches long, bless hmi, he got round that by lifting the shifter a foot!
That boys and girls was a brilliant night!! ;D
