So another few hours today pushed D's T on a little further. With the Grille and Rad re positioned and now lined up correctly we started to strip the front end back down again and pull the motor. It was tight for room, it became very clear very quickly that the body was put on after the motor and tranny were fitted - with little thought for future issues to be resolved without a complete body off strip, but as is almost always the way, where theres a will etc.... Quick strip of all the ancilliaries and....... ....into the company wash off trolley!!! Once de-greased and jet washed, dried and cleaned out, a quick first coat of paint was next. The rad - well - how that ever cooled anything is a miracle, ive seen less mud when the waterboard dredge a river!! We set to with the wire wheel and brused everything up to remove the oil and cruddy paint, primed everything in the company spray bay (were short of nowt ya know!) So to the buffer - few original ancillieries brought back to standard from the paint and oil encrusted former condition.... Then theres this......... Yes we even have a company seamstress, she's not a looker but has a hidden talent! Ive orderd a scarf and wolley hat!! (More on the interior to follow.

Here we go with the interior build. I thought i'd have a go at the door cards as money is tight after the Christmas spendathon. First we cut the door card to size and shape Then using bucket loads of this I glued the foam from a camping roll up mattress. I wanted 3" pleats so measured and marked it up. Then using a craft knife i cut a v alone each line. Using the spray glue in the channel. Then layed the vinal and 'tucked' it into the channel using a plastic spatula. After a few pleats it started to look something right. Then it was time to staple the material to the rear of the card. Now for the top part, i made this part separate as i knew the material would bunch up and look shite. This was then glued and stapled in place. And there we go, Gabe lopez eat you heart out.

Well considering this atarted out as a quick tidy up, the strip down continues in earnest! D has now procured a supercharger so last night i set about cleaning bits up. i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a597/SuperCCV8/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps4458488b.jpg.html]Whilst D removed the screen posts and glass I started to clean up the anciliaries. Next was the Dash, it was sat too low and too proud, so we began to profile the body to more suit the curve of the top of the dash, easy when you say it quickly, but it took a bit of careful trimming to the back of the dash and a trim to the body to suit. Whilst its being stripped further than first thought, it is going to be right now and it is coming together. So heres to Saturday and we might get to the bodywork soon! Bit of buffing to do then we can box that stuff up ready for when we start to nail it back together. I have to say im really enjoying this one, and i doo think its gonna be a cool litttle rod.

That looks like that could have been an expensive bit of bakelite to butcher.

No intake but it does have a pulley. Going to make the intake etc. As for the dash you have to break a few eggs to make a omelette.

How cold was it this morning!! well we wrapped up and set about some chassis and bulkhead work today. D had booked the painter for late Feb so we better get to it. First yo a good ol degrease and a wash off.... Then an attack with the wire wheel on the most pissed off angry, tempromental grinder that hates life!! i HAD WIRE BITS STUCK IN MY CLOTHES EVERYWHERE AND IN MI FACE!! When weve finished the grinder meets the lump hammer, it may think its won - its got a shock comin!! Then we filled and sanded the fire wall .....and then painted the Chassis..... we enevn hit the red, and the motors coming back together too..... So next installment Tuesday. We made a to do list - suprising how much weve got done but theres a fair bit on the list still!!

Car's booked in at the painters on Feb 17th. Bought the carpet today so going to cut to shape and get the edging sewed on that i have just bought. New block plate arrived on Friday so i can make the inlet manifold for the supercharger and the new exhaust. Also got the new torque tube uj as the old one had given up the ghost. Should have the car ready for Silcotes. (hopefully)
