We decided to set off nice and early to get a good spot,We met at the M1 junction at 6am, that was me, Grum and Tim, we met up with Chris with his T and Ian with his Marina van at Watford gap services at about 8.30 and were booked in at the Pod at quarter past nine. Fearing the weather forecast we pitched up sharpish, little did we know then that we needn't have worried, despite the doom and gloom forecast it was going to be cracking the flags, - for the entire weekend!
First Up, we met Ian at Watford gap, the Ex Dave Hilder van still looks as good as ever...
So once pitched we headed for the banking.....Slightly loose test and tune afternoon with a smattering of RWYB which saw Andy Hadfield with a new personal best in the 7's.

Love Honkey Tonkin 2
...and the ammount of Funny Cars made it for me, pure bliss!
Attitude personified!!.......
Stars of the show.... Pure Hell and Rat Trap. Original cars from the 60s in the USA and special guests for Dragstalgia this year, now owned and driven by father and son.
The happiest man on the planet at 2pm on Friday 11th July 2014....Andy Hadfield.....
These pics were take about 1.45pm!!
As it was a 'Dragstalga's Birthday' the NSRA asked a few old junkers to put a display on....
Steve Ashdown....I tip my hat to you sir!!
Back out and round the pits it is then.....
Lovin' this, no suprise though eh?
'Rises up like a cutter through ice' (Name the film thats's quoted from)
And so, contented and full of spent methanol we strolled back to the camp, pausing at just about every car en route!
Captain Sensible....
And so the evening festivities began. The 'Croc Dundee' act fell a little short!
As did the Jonny Vegas one ;-)
More to follow. Now Saturday is where the temp rose and the track got mega hot!!
