Well it started for me meetuing up with 'Timmy' and Caroline at 3am on Friday and then on to meet up with everyone else at Blyth services on the A1 at 3.45 am. Weather looked good and boy were we revved up for a great week end. We stopped at Stibbington truck stop for breakfast which is about half way to Ipswich and met up with Chris.
WE were at the showground for 8.30am and everyone was set up for about 10.30. So lets have a beer!!! Christ that was one long day. it seemed like it was about 7pm and when we looked it was only one pm. That was a very surreal but at the same time bloody brilliant experience, the day seemed to last forever.
Saturday dawned and so did the rain. And boy did it rain, but thanks to Chris bringing his T on the trailer we had a party tent, and boy did that get used on Saturday.
When the current bun did come out some took advantage to the full effect......
Now, do you remember thoes stag weekends, the ones where everyone had a tattoo with some spurious thing on it? Well as so much happened this weekend we decided to re-kindle the idea.....on the cars! So afther an hours discussion the ideas were formulated and the 'Car Tat' was born. Mick put a call in to Tootall Paul and it was agreed that on the Sunday we should park our cars by his stall and he would duly oblige, which he did....
Ill not explain em all, it'll make for a good o'l talking point in future months......mine was this.......
Tim had.......
Andy had this on his panel
Grum's on the T......
Chris's on his T..................
Each one has the words 'Nats 2013' somewhere near it in very tiny lettering. Brilliant! A lasting memory from a brill weekend, you had to be there!!
So Sunday, the traditional show and shine day. Well numbers were slightly down, and despite the rain and smaller cruise that happened on the saturday, Sunday came and so did the cars, it was rammed. Took these. Enjoy................
Mounted over a modern day Iveco, this COE was cool.......
Straight from the 70's.......
Screaming for some '32' Speed Freak style arches............
You could have driven this away on the day for £40K!!! I loved it but I was £39800 short!
Bloody hell how did that one get in there?........
Someone will be along soon to explain i'm sure.
''Rises up like a cutter through ice''
Yes please............
Yes I know what it is and I know what it was, I also can see just how much work went in to it, what I can't see is why???
