So after a distress call from Dranny, Big D and me shot over, had half an hour by the log burner, ate his Jaffa cakes, drank his coffee and beer and set to with the Chevy motor that wouldnt conform to standards required!!. We rigged up a 'Temporary fuel tank' and tried the motor prior to beating it with a stick.... Chris was master of ceremonies with the gas.... But the bastard didn't want to know, so we tried the electrics.... We couldnt get it running right, turned out the cam had done a lobe, causing the carb to pop back throug an exhaust valve that wouldnt play so ..........out the motor came. Well with a new cam, a good clean, the shells and bottom end looked great, so cut valves back in and started the build up, NEWS JUST IN........Dranny goes all Elton John with 'Blinggin' the engine, paint and shiny bits have been seen in the near vacinity!!

:DWell after antother morning, which suprisingly saw Dranny shouting 'Watch mi paint' (never thought i'd hear that from him!)we painted, tightened, adjusted and generally built it up.......man was it cold today, but the Jaffa cakes warmed us!!! Ta Daaaa! Dranny would now like to be known as Elton 'Watch mi paint' John. A true hard core rat rodder!!! So into the van it went and back home to be re united with the Chevy truck.

Ok so after a few Tuesday nights and Sat mornings, D got to mine at 8 bells and off we set, with a large sledge hammer and a gallon of petrol and a box of swann vestas. It was start of face the consequences! We had no less that 4 x mega big charged up batteries, two sets of jump leads, a booster pack and large new battery cables and a brand new starter oh and a very fkin big stick!! So We got the carb off as D started with the wires and solderin iron.... So with new wires, Jets cleaned and carb generally cleaned, the thanks we got was flaming exhausts and im talkin three foot of the hot stuff out the exhausts, and 3 foot out the carbs, we just couldn't work it out? Big puff to blow it out! More batteries and boosters that a 'Cardiac Unit'!!!! So we rang Mrs Round, did the valve lash, altered the Dizzy, and re plugged it, gapped em, re ran the leads,, threw the washer on the dizzy base, and re timed it altered the dizzy drive and fcuk me and everyone else for that matter, five hours in and ka boom! The old girl bust into life like a fantail water rabbit! one final tweek..... and we got a happy Fan Tail Water Dranny!! ''Ive got mi middle finger mucky lad, but by am I happy now''! Chris celebrated by sortin the butties, well he had to find something to do..... That was a 'Fkin brilliant morning, I aint laughed so much for ages, had a cool brekkie off a log burner or seen someone smile so much in a few weeks. Just a bit of sdjustment here n there and Dranny's Back! and not before time either!!!! Motor sounds real strong, see ya for a brew next sun and a run in the old stubbon bastard!!
