Took the T out for a run yesterday Brakes work no leaks great drives back into the garage turn ignition off engine keeps on running disconected battery still running the only way it would stop was to clamp fuel line. All the gauges turned off with ignition any ideas. Car has a mechanical fuel pump,Could it still be an electrickery problem or is it the i dont want to be sold gremmlins striking again ?

Fuel pump must be getting power from somewhere mate, or is it mechanical?

Could be a coil problem battery will start car you can disconnect it will still run alternater generates so only a guess but if you pulled wire of coil would have stopped had same trouble once changed alternater and coil seemed to cure it but you know cars mind of their own lol

Pumps mechanical Russ could this be the problem just taken pipe off the pump loads of fuel coming out, id expect a bit but its more like litres so could it be syphoning direct from the tank and would this keep the engine running after ignition is turned off ?Thanks for the help guys.

Is the tank breather clear and it sounds like pumps gone duff tok if its letting fuel through?

ian is the tank vented also, as if its syphoning tank might be pressurised ? thinking out loud here.deano
