May as well be a repair panel for a cortina with the amount of bending and reshaping that we needed to do, but beggers and choosers etc but its is shaping up now.

Penultimate panel, only one set left to do now, just the door bottoms. So tonight saw the wing welding finished on the off side and ground back, trim holes welded on the back panels and the near side rear becomes mega streight. Even the arch radius are starting to come to life now, when you see it like this it was worth it, but jeez its been a long steel road!

Is that a repair panel you used on the bottom of the door, or did D bend it up himself?

Its a repair panel. Most the other parts weve made by hand as there arent any repair panels. All the rest of the bottom of the door Inner corners I had to make from scratch. Its sooooo time consuming, not to mention frustrating.

Bit late posting this week, but more good progress was made. We finished the door one more bit to do on the other side but not half as bad as the passenger side. So whilst D was fettlin a bit more on strengthening the wing mounts in the wings and welding up the final few trim holes, i set to with the grinder and a vicious wire wheel, well one and a half wire wheels to be true. Cleaned inside all the roof and piller apatures, screen beds and the bulk head. We figured one last push on the steel cleaning, were pretty much through the "unearth the horrors" phase, and sure enough there was the odd spot but nothing to what weve seen the last 6 months. All this takes time but well worth it. Be gone ugly layers of paint.... Swap meet sam got himself a new alli rad, so with the slam panel and front frame still i. Place we went for a trial fit, almost, bit of cutting, stretchin' and warming, bending and welding and kerching, rad fits. That can go for blasting, then we can fettle that up later. Few other jobs completed, and we went to pick up a rather interesting body,....... See on Topic. :-)
