Thought i'd stick this up. I found this in a poly-tunnel in an old garden centre in Harrogate in 2001. I got it running and it scraped an mot following tyres, fuel lines, battery and brakes.I ran it up until 2004 when the floor took on the look of tarmac! Its just a tub full of fun. Ive been working on it quietly over the last six years, more off then on, its got a box section powder coated floor, the engine has got scat internals, short shift gear linkage and it'll be pretty quick for what it is. Anyway as its closing in on its first MOT for six years im looking forward to havin it on the road next summer.
Thought i'd come clean, I own a Beach Buggy! This was how it was in 2004, I frenched the lights just to keep the body line....
I took it off the road around late 2004 and pulled it to bits. with the sole intention of taking my time, renewing or re-conning everything. It will have front drilled and vented discs with twin pot callipers (when I can remember where I put them) I have a Nos fogger plate for it just need solenoids and bottle, but that can wait. Almost every bush, pin and nut is new. Ive got a set of Pan European bike mirrors with built in indicators to go on and still got a soft top to get made. Anyway...
Fast forward to this week end........
Even on crutches with the pot, and a wheelchair, we got the body on mi buggy and the front and back suspension mounted thanks to low level work and pop crates!!
[glow=red,2,300][/glow]'Heres To Next Summer!!'[glow=red,2,300][/glow]
Rear torsions sorted, steering rack is in, we've bent up the roll bar, fuel tanks in, roll bar mounted, we even got the motor running on the bench with 5inch cannons on, hell that woke the dead! Painting the gearbox on Monday, then its just to wire and mot time is upon us, then pull down for paint, it's not the Nats but it worked for me this week end and put a smile on my face!!
Its harvest time and i've lost my barn for now but hey miracles happen under tarps and its only for five weeks till I get it back!
Until the rain stops we soldier on under plastic takes me back to teenage years!
Just some psycadelic 70's name to come up with. New roll bar looks better.
Got it on a stand, cracked into life, just got to stick my chrome goodies on when its fitted and the paints done, it'll be in next week hopefully.
Metal Flake Orange, or Metal Flake Red Whaddya think?
