Hello,
It's always best to start with an introduction... so a little about me.
My late friend Mickey Bray (Pinball Wizard) introduced me to hot rods in the early 70s. Then in 75 I was a founder member of Rainy City Cruisers and had a little something to do with the Belle Vue shows. Had a few cars, usual stuff Zephyr 6, Cadillac, Galaxie, Southern Comfort Escort pickup and so on and was involved in creating a few with John Miles. Today I have a 1977 Toyota BJ40 and over the last 12 years we've (with wife, Corinne) restored it but it doesn't have the stock engine, g/box or suspension. They are all from a later series Landcruiser except the front suspension which is from a P38 Range Rover.
Anyway enough of this drivel... I'm retired now ('cos I'm very old) and live in the mountains in southern Spain ('cos it's warmer).
Give it time and I'll dig out some old photos that you might enjoy.
Regards,
Rodger

Hi Rog, glad you registed, hope you like the forum. For thoes who dont know, Rodger was the man behind the much respected Belle View shows in Manchester in the 70s which he touched on above and played down very well i might say! Welcome aboard Mate.
NB all the years ive known you I never knew the "Southern Comfort" pick up was yours, did that have something to do with Manchester and the bar there? Also if memory serves wasnt it formerly called "dead City"? (The pick up that is not Manchester!). :-)

Thanks for the welcome... Southern Comfort was the old Dead City pick up that Al Llewellin built. It was really rebuilt between Graham Kelsey (my partner in the shows) and myself. Southern Comfort had got involved in Manchester by supplying add-on prizes - booze - and wanted to extend their involvement and their main guy thought the murals were stick on so that's when we got Geoff Ridgway to mural the truck during on of the shows. Once finished either Graham or me would take it to shows and recently Ian Furey-King reminded me that I used to give all the SC away because I didn't like it!!
Now a small question... uploading photos. Do I do this via Photobucket or is there a direct attachment routine on here and if so which button is it. (be gentle with me as I'm a fully qualified Luddite!)
Cheers

Now you know why I didn't like it (and still don't)!!
Legal advice? - they settled out of court with a few crates back then. Then some heavy blokes came and said I could work me truck over for them - least that's what I thought they said.
