Happy days Its Saturday!! D has had man flu, i'd been manic at work so progress for the last week had been zero. So we said we'd attack it fast and hard this morning. D's still a light grey colour but none the less theres a car to do, so a car we did! So first job was to get it back on its wheels.... We then trial fitted the first part of the seat.....not bad eh?? Thats base and door cards done! Tadman who? Shaun came down and helped out with the colour sanding........ The plan was to get the screen in. Weve buffed up the posts between us, they were just rough cast, and to be fair they aint come up too bad. We had to repair the body at one side where the post had been bodged in, so an hour of carefully calculated drilling took place. So after a bit of the good o'l polish we trial fitted the lights and drop down number plate we made up a few weeks ago. and gave the rear running gear and chassis a sand and a fresh coat of paint... D pulled the tired dash, watched a You tube vid on how to refurbish bakerlite and ...BOOM.... Dont know if ya gonna see it in this picture but the grain is amazing. Whilst we were on with this, Shaun dissapeard to the other side of the workshop mumbling something about inverters and 48volts, you kind of get used to theat with Shaun! Anyhow after pulling out an old beach cruiser push bike, firing up the grinder and welder, a bit of banging followed and.... two hours later he silently overtook every cyclist on the road outside at speed!! Now that there was piss funny at 30mph totally quietly!! So tuesday we attack the pedals, gear stick, clocks and re fit the dash, in and amongst playing on the 48volt two wheeled rocket....its ace!!

The blower hopefully with be getting mounted this week. Toyed with the idea of running twin carbs instead and bought two beetle carbs but sense has prevailed.
