And so the temperature drops in the fridge!! None the less we carried on in earnest. The plan being to fit the 'flip up concealed numberplate bracket', finish sanding the bulk head fire wall, prime and paint it. So first up the bracket for the rear plate was prepped and glassed into the underside of the rear vallence and clamped in place. At the bottom of the shot you can see D's considerable investment in the new @spray Booth Temparature Controlled Heating System' Next on the list was to get the bulk head finished and in primer. and with a little help from a calor heater - the new 'Spray Booth heating system'.....(its easy this game with all the new modern technology!!!!) we managed to get the paint on quicker than first thought. Whilst that was drying in the 'Devilbiss Booth ' we stripped the grille and prepped that for paint. And cleaned the rad for a fresh coat also. D had toyed with the idea of keeping the Brass header tank, but there was too much solder in it and close up it really wasn't that cracking. D re built the clutch and we were deliberating on calling that it for Saturday....... ....but, as the paint was dry and the motor ready, at 2.30pm we had a second burst of energy, and as the temerature had risen to a 'skin frying 5 degrees', we decided to drop the motor back in... So that was Saturday...or was it? ... Nope! with the motor in, why not start building it up? so we did! So I guess the panic for the paint shop is almost over but there is still quite a list of things to do. More on Tuesday ....stay tuned....

So following some good progress today was blighted with problems, mainly two paint guns failed so progress was slow. We masked up the front end and back hubs. We finished off the top of the body where it meets the dash and panel wiped everything down. We wanted to get a coat of primer on so we knew where fine surface filler was needed The the gun bust, then a second gun bust, so after two hrs of swapping parts about D went and got a new gun and we got aome paint on the old girl. So flatting and fine surface filler on Tuesday, the guns put us back a bit today, but after all the luck weve had so far we cant grumble. :-)

.....Breaking News...... There was a meeting with the board of directors at the Garage today, an executive decision was taken following a three hour meeting. Breaking only for a quick brew, they emerged from the office to make a postumous announcement. Budget has been allocated, and a purchase has been made, gentlemen.............................. .......................we have a new torch!!!!.............................. So with everyone rejoicing at the news and in high spirits, a quick flat and more primer was applied, though as we had a new torch, there was no funds to replace the gas bottle for the heater. So whilst that was drying, we fettled the head lights and grille for a coat next time we load the gun, theres still a bit of stoppering to do in the body so we will be primering again.

love that torch i do, but it's only a matter of time before it gets forgotten and left under a car. Still the lucky custodian will have a axle light to be proud of.
